JAN FABRE was born in Antwerp in Belgium in 1958 and is a multidisciplinary artist, playwright, theater director, choreographer and designer. He studied at the Municipal Institute of Decorative Arts and at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. His works are present in the most authoritative collections and museums in the world.
QUOTATIONS The most recent price is for Le casque (from Sanguis Mantis), a polished bronze of 69 x 45 x 34 cm beaten by Germann Auktionshaus AG Zurich in 2012 for 31,230 Dollars. About ten sculptures in polished or gilded bronze have been auctioned off for more than $ 100,000. In the gallery his works on paper are assess between 10,000 and 225,000 dollars. Its top price is for De man die de wolken meet (The man who measures the clouds), polished bronze of 289 x 150 x 77 cm, awarded by Sotheby’s London in 2012 for 324,198 Dollars.
